Tandoori is food which has been mildly spiced and slow-cooked in a tandoor, or hot clay oven. This seasoning will give a close approximation of the exotic, aromatic flavour of Tandoor cooked food, without the actual clay oven.
This seasoning is also good with baked shrimp; seafood steaks; chicken, or shrimp pasta salad. Hand mixed from ground coriander, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, ginger, cardamom and saffron. It’s a popular Indian blend of spices to create Tandoori chicken at home. You can create a marinade by mixing 2 Tbsp of Tandoori seasoning with 125g of plain yoghurt and coat whole pieces of chicken with the marinade. Bake in the oven until chicken is cooked through. Also delicious when rubbed directly onto meat or chicken for grilling or barbecuing.
