Ingredients:- White pepper is a tan-white powder with a taste similar to black pepper, but less pungent. It has been ground from the dried, black or red immature berries of the peppercorn plant after the outer and inner coverings have been removed by soaking. Ground White Pepper has traditionally been used in dishes where visible black pepper specks would be objectionable - such as white sauces or mashed potatoes etc.
The flavour of white pepper however, is different to black pepper. White pepper is hotter, sharper, and generally less subtle than black pepper but with a more refined flavour. It has a more natural appearance for inclusion in delicate or pale coloured sauces.
