Ingredients: Whole Hazelnuts. Fresh Hazelnuts (also called Filberts in the USA in honour of St. Philibert, a 7th century abbot whose feast day - Aug. 22, corresponds with the start of the hazelnut season). Hazels are rich in protein, complex carbohydrates, dietary fibre, Fe, Ca and vitamin E. (Also Vits A, B1, B2, B6, and Zn, Cu, Mg, Mn, K, Ph & Se.) 90% of the fat in hazelnuts is unsaturated (mono- and poly-unsaturated fatty acids [oleic (82%) and linoleic (9%)].
Hazelnuts also have high levels of tocopherols, a form of vitamin E. Hazelnuts are a rich source of vitamin E.
