Ingredients: Pinto Beans originated in Peru (pinto Spanish - "painted" - because of the reddish brown colour splashes on the bean’s beige background but which turns pink when cooked). High in protein & minerals, and rich in Vits. B1 (Thiamine), B2, B6, Niacin). A cup of Pinto beans supplies, protein, DV for: folate, thiamine (Vit.B1), magnesium, potassium, molybdenum, manganese, copper, and iron. (N.B. If baking soda is added to speed up the softening of the cellulose, the thiamine content is destroyed.)
Add pinto beans to salads, dips, vegetable soups, etc.
