Ingredients:- Black Chia Seeds. Salvia hispanica, commonly known as Chia, is a species of flowering plant in the mint family, (Lamiaceae), that is native to central and southern Mexico and Guatemala. It was cultivated by the Aztecs and later by the Mayans. Chia is derived from the Nahuatl (Aztec) word chian, meaning oily.
Chia is very rich in omega-3 fatty acids, mostly α-linolenic acid (ALA). It also is a good source of antioxidants and a variety of amino acids. Chia also has Cinnamic acids that guard the omega-3 oils from oxidation, making it shelf stable for years.
